[ There she was...!

Squall jogs over to the side of the house he saw her head peek out from and started climbing up the side of it to reach her room. He seemed to have a lot of practice at climbing these places... ]

[ Xion's not sure if it's weirder or funnier that he's so good at climbing. Maybe both? She lets out a sound of surprised, and backs away from the window-

then changes her mind, and holds out a hand for him to grab onto if he needs assistance being pulled up and in. ]

Do- do you need any help?

[ He doesn't take the hand extended to her but instead holds out the gift he had been hiding instead. It was a bunch of cupcakes with dorky little designs on them like snow flakes and Shiva. Just dont judge him that the Shiva ones were a little too accurate to how she looked... ]

I'm fine. I usually climb to the roof back home.

[ Xion looks down at the box he hands her in surprise, stepping back so he has room to enter the room. ]

You climb roofs back there, too? [ But her curiosity is being pulled two ways, as she glances back at the box again. ]

What- [ She doesn't wait for an answer before opening the box and peaking in, gasping. ]

These are so cute! And really nice- did you make these? [ Shiva!! Her icy friend! Squall's GF! She looks back up at Squall, eyes lit up. ]

What do you have these, for? [ yeah she. doesn't get it. ]

[ He thought she might get a kick out of those... A small smile forming on his lips as he finally slips into her room. ]

It's part of an apology gift to you.

Last month I was a huge asshole... and you didn't deserve that. It was only because of the fog in the air but... I still said some mean things to you.

[ She looks surprised. ]

For me? But, I- [ Xion shakes her head, frowning. ]

I mean, you were definitely... different. [ She says, delicately, as she turns away and places the box of cupcakes on her desk. ]

But I probably shouldn't have argued with you. [ There's a slight silence as she taps her fingers on her desk table, then turns back around. ]

Are you... feeling better, now?

[ He gives a small nod. ]

I'm feeling... well not like I was. Better isn't really the word I'd use though. I did a lot of damage...

[ Her mouth twists sympathetically. ]

Well... I don't know about anyone else you spoke to. But I know that after we spoke, I was pretty upset. But only because I... I really thought that we were getting to know each other, as friends. So, to hear you say you want to apologize... That makes me happy.

[ She gives a quick, slightly shy smile, before her concerned look returns. ]

Did you... fight with a lot of people?

Yeah... I pretty much got into a fight with most of my friends... and oddly enough made a friend?

Made... a friend? [ She blinks. ]

Is that a good thing or a bad thing, if you made a friend while in a fighting mood...?

[ His hands start moving as he talks in weird gestures. ]

It was like one of those things where you don't know if you're friends but then the other person is like " why are you being such an ass! I'm your friend, you jerk!" kind of things...?

Oh, hmm, I get it. [ She looks like she doesn't get it.

But after thinking a moment, clarity reaches her and she laughs. ]

Actually, I feel like I know a few people that might act like that. So, are you still friends now that you're back to normal?

I think so. [ There was a small pause as he glances back at her. ]

Like... I hope we still are...?

[ She laughs, at that. At least he made a friend, so... not a total bust, technically?

At the question, she opens her mouth to answer right away- then stops, and makes a humming noise. ]

Well... I don't know. I haven't tried these cupcakes yet.

[ This cheeky...he really should have expected that kind of reply when she has some kind of connection with Sora.

He snorts softly at that, his arms folding a bit. ]

Then I hope you enjoy them.

[ Absolutely he should have! Xion's smile grows at his folded arms as she reaches towards the box. ]

Will you try them with me? To make sure we can still be friends, I mean.

[ She's not sure whether he'd want one, but- the feeling's there, regardless. ]

Mmm... on one condition.

[ Squall shifts closer to her and and grabs for a cupcake in the box with the best looking snowflake. ]

This one is mine.

[ For a split second, Xion looks concerned- but when he just reaches for a cupcake, she lets out a laugh. ]

I guess... I can handle that. [ She says, with the air of someone doing someone a huge favor. Herself, she reaches for a Shiva one with no hesitation, taking a bite. There's a moment as she chews thoughtfully, then- ]

You're in luck. This is delicious.

Ah... is it? I'm a little new to baking but... I got some help from Snow, so I was hoping they'd turned out alright.

[ Honestly, she'd probably say the same thing even if it wasn't, but she does seem to be genuinely enjoying it. ]

Snow's really good at baking, but seems like you're off to a good start, too. Although... [ She gives him an enigmatic smile. ]

...This is only the second cupcake I've ever had.

[ BUT, REGARDLESS: ]

Either way... I guess that means we can still be friends. [ A smile. ] Thanks, Squall. I'm glad.

You guess huh?

[ he gives her a gentle nudge before a soft laughter spills from his mouth. ]

Then I guess I'm glad.

[ She laughs, giving him a nudge back. ]

No, you're right. I did say the cupcakes would decide, so there's no "guessing" here. It's for sure.

[ But her smile grows to hear that he's glad, too. Although... that has her thinking. ]

Squall... you said you got into a lot of fights, during the fog?

[ Licking the frosting off his lips, he gives her a curious look. ]

Yeah... quite a few.

Did you make cupcakes for everyone? I hope your kitchen survived. [ A tragedy... the kitchen needed to stay standing so they could all have more of these delicious things, obviously. ]

Cupcakes weren't the only things I made. I made cookies and tarts too... I just figured your sweettooth might be as big as Sora's for some reason... So I wanted to give you the sweetest thing.
